Newsletter Issue 10 - Term 3 Week 9
Principal Report

Dear Parents and Families,
Wow – the past few weeks have been a whirlwind of events and excitement! It's hard to believe we’re already approaching the end of Term 3. There have been so many wonderful moments (so skip past my message and enjoy the fantastic photos of our students, staff, and families!). A special shoutout goes to our Athletics team for their outstanding achievement in winning the Ashburton Primary Schools Shield – what a proud moment for our school!
As we look ahead, we’ve already begun planning for 2026. We understand that some families may be moving on from Tom Price, and it’s important for us to know this as early as possible. If you are aware that your children will not be returning in 2026, please contact our lovely Front Office team via phone or email northtomprice.ps@education.wa.edu.au This helps us greatly in planning classes and staffing for the coming school year.
We’re also in the process of refining our school priorities for the next phase of our journey. These will be shaped by student needs, your feedback, and the Department of Education’s direction for government schools. As a school, we are committed to being Culturally Responsive, valuing diversity and inclusion.
From 2026 and beyond, we’ll focus our efforts through this lens across three key priority areas:
- Achievement: High-quality teaching and learning in Literacy
- Wellbeing: Supporting both students and staff
- Engagement: Fostering stronger connections with students, families, and the wider community
Our students and families have told us that school should be fun, learning should be inspiring, and relationships really do matter. We believe North Tom Price Primary is already a wonderful place, and we’re committed to making it even better.
Next week, I’ll be sharing these priorities with the School Board to gather further feedback on what our community wants and needs in these areas. In the coming weeks and throughout Term 4, I’ll also be inviting parents to join me for coffee mornings and afternoons. These informal sessions will provide a chance to chat about:
- What it means to be a Culturally Safe school that reflects our communities’ aspirations
- How we can better support inclusion for all students, including those with disabilities and neurodivergent learners
- What families want for our youngest learners in Kindy to Year 2, and how we can make the transition into formal schooling early years joyful and successful
As Principal of NTPPS, my vision is to ensure that our regional students and families receive an outstanding education and experience wonderful opportunities. If you’re unable to attend any of the events, I welcome you to email me with your thoughts and ideas – or drop in anytime for a chat. My door is always open to talk about how we can continue building an amazing school community together.
We look forward to seeing many of you on Wednesday night for Open Night. Catering begins at 5pm, and classrooms will be open from 5:30–7:00pm.
Warm regards,
Nicki Hill
Principal
